Anti-Anonymous Document
From Vancouver Anonymous Protest Planning & Information Wiki - Vanonymous
Recently, the Church of Scientology has been distributing this flier to the public in order to counter our information. This slip of paper makes mention of incorrect facts, allegations, and assumptions on Vanonymous.
It is reported that this is a template document that all Scientology groups locally distribute where Anonymous may be protesting.
Our Position
First and foremost we would like to say, Vanonymous has not, and will not ever take part in the incite of hatred.
No one can speak on behalf of everyone in Vanonymous, but almost all of us have been around since day one, the only thing we are guilty of is exercising our right to a peaceful protest. Anonymous may have started as a group of random people on the internet, but we are not cyber terrorists and we are not Anonymous. We are Vanonymous. We have never committed hate crimes in the direction of the "church". We would not be telling the truth if we didn’t say some members of Anonymous prank called and black faxed the "church" in the infancy of the protests, but no one who is with us now condones any type of hateful action which would result in harassment and/or destruction of "Church" of Scientology property. In respect to our "Nazi-like terms" such as Jews and sci-fags, that’s not for any individual to say. What people call each other in private places is up to them, but when Vanonymous deals with the "church" in public we hold ourselves to a certain level of professionalism and respect. The Vanonymous movement was started in early January after the "church" of Scientology attempted to remove some copyrighted videos from the Internet, that didn’t go over so well. The Internet is a place for the free sharing of information, and it will be kept at that. To remove things from the Internet that are bothersome to you is a suppression of the free speech people have been fighting so hard for over the years. We have kept up our battle with the church of Scientology for the sole fact that they are dangerous, deceptive cult.
We believe in the freedom of religion; we have no problem with their beliefs. We do, in fact, have a problem with the there extremely dangerous and heartless practises of denying mentally ill people medicine, fair game, disconnection policies, brain washing, child abuse, and trying to operate under the guise of an innocent peace-loving religion. The Vanonymous movement has only ever communicated with the cult through peaceful protest, we don't threaten them with violence, insults, rape or bomb threats. As it was stated earlier, we do not condone the destruction of their property, nor will we ever. For the record, the "axe wielding man" was actually just a random passerby who happened to be holding an axe, and talked to us about what we were doing. We don’t wear masks to scare parishioners, children, or elderly. We wear the masks for one simple reason: to protect our identity. On numerous occasions the "church" of Scientology has attempted to, and in certain cases, succeeded, in photographing, threatening, stalking and spying on certain members of our group. Our material is not baseless and it is not hate material. It is the truth, the truth that the cult doesn’t want you to see. We have numerous sources for each article, cult documents in L. Ron Hubbard's hand writing and confirmation from ex-"Church" members.
In respect to the "church" working with the VPD Hate Crimes Department, we have spoken with several members of the Vancouver Police Department and they have denied any involvement with their Hate Crimes Unit and the "church" of Scientology. In closing, we would just like to point out how hypocritical and slanderous such an article is. If you ever want to come and learn some more about the Vanonymous movement or the "church" of Scientology, please check our main page for protest dates and contact info. Thank you for taking the time to read our article and inform yourself.
Yours truly,
Vanonymous
